Wedding in Maramures

I'm back in business folks ! How quick time goes by..it's already end of august... So, what exciting news do you have for me ? 'Cas this two weeks were completly FULL for me. In the first week, I had 3 wonderfull days on "La vie en rose" Handmade Fair in Sibiu. I'll write soon a post about this Fair, because it was to beautiful and just wait to see the city....

In prima saptamana, am avut parte de 3 zile minunate in cadrul Targului Handmade "La vie en rose" in Sibiu.

In my second week off, I had the most wonderfull trip in Maramures county. The main reasons for this trip, was my cousin's wedding (the bride was from Maramures), so me and my family went four days sooner, to have time to visit some places. You have to know that Maramures county is 500 km away from us...I'm warning you, it's going to rain with beautiful pictures....

The first stop - BRASOV. It was 8 pm, after 2 hours of driving. Did I mentioned that I drived the ALL way to Maramures and back?
The interesting thing is that "the oldest traces of human activity and settlements in Brașov date back to the Neolithic age (about 9500 BCE). Archaeologists working from the last half of the 19th century discovered continuous traces of human settlements in areas situated in Brașov: Valea Cetăţii, Pietrele lui Solomon, Șprenghi, Tâmpa, Dealul Melcilor, and Noua. The first three locations show traces of Dacian citadels; Șprenghi Hill housed a Roman-style construction. The last two locations had their names applied to Bronze Age cultures—Schneckenberg ‘Hill of the Snails’ (Early Bronze Age[6]) and Noua 'The New’ (Late Bronze Age[7]). Cool, right?

Prim oprire - BRASOV.

The second stop - SIGHISOARA. This city, by me is one of the most turistic cities in Romania. You should read about it. << Sighiṣoara is considered to be the most beautiful and well preserved inhabited citadel in Europe,[citation needed] with authentic medieval architecture. In Eastern Europe, Sighiṣoara is one of the few fortified towns that are still inhabited. The town is made up of two parts. The medieval stronghold was built on top of a hill and is known as the "Citadel" (Cetate). The lower town lies in the valley of Târnava Mare river.
The houses inside Sighiṣoara Citadel show the main features of a craftsmen's town. However, there are some houses that belonged to the former patriciate, like the Venetian House and the House with Antlers.>> Even the cemetery was beautiful :)

They have the most wonderful traditional costume. With gorgeous colorful and floral skirts and white shirts with handmade cotton laces and ruffles.Luckily I found a sweet lady in the market, who dressed me like this to take some pictures...What can I say ? A hundred times THANK YOU !!!
In Maramures au cel mai minunat costum traditional.

Just beautiful...
Pur si simplu adorabil...

Then the wedding. Here is the bride, the groom, and the two pairs of godparents. The groom is my cousin. And the bride is the sweetest girl that he ever could find. I wish them the best in their lifes and many childrens..
Apoi nunta.

My parents, me and my sister. A happy family !
Parintii mei, eu si sora mea. O familie fericita !

They have this "strange" tradition. In the early morning, by the end of the wedding party, the godmother take off the bride's veil and gives her kerchief like a symbol that she became a married woman. And the godmother place the veil on the head of some unmarried girls so that in the near future, those girls get married. God knows why I was the first to have the veil on my head ?! Maybe because I was the oldest unmarried girl with no intention to marry, among the gilrs on the wedding party ??
Even the groom, my cousin, is younger than me with one year....

And I was kidding, it's not a strange tradition. We have this tradition throughout the all country.

And in the end, some other lovely pictures...
Si la final, alte cateva poze simpatice..

I hope I didn't bored you. For me it was a beautiful week, which gaved me the opportunity to meet so many beautiful people and to see so many lovely places.

P.S. When we returned , we found my sweet little baby Bella in so much better conditions. She can walk now, not perfectly ,but she is still under treatment and we are more optimistic. Thank you Suzan for your good words !

I'm joining the party :
